Cook P/T

Hancock County Government is seeking candidates to fill a position in our jail for the position of Cook (part-time).

The individual will assist in the preparation of meals in the kitchen. Perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. The individual should be able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function as part of a team.

The starting rate of pay for Cook (part-time) is $18.55 and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner for inmates and employees.

2. Follows menus as closely as possible.

3. Supervises kitchen trustees.

4. Oversees the cleaning of kitchen.

5. Performs other duties as requested by the head cook.
