RCC/E 9-1-1 Center

The Hancock County RCC is one of twenty-five 911 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) located within the State of Maine, specifically serving Hancock County communities.  In addition to answering 911 calls, the RCC provides dispatching and support services for several Law Enforcement and Emergency Medical Service agencies, and over 25 Fire Departments in and around Hancock County.  The RCC staff gather important call information through Emergency Medical and Fire Dispatch Protocols to ensure departments have the best information possible to provide the most appropriate emergency response.  Our staff assists law enforcement by gathering essential information and using local, state and federal data bases and operating systems to support investigations and operations.

Our staff must obtain and maintain certifications in Emergency Telecommunications, Emergency Medical and Fire Dispatch (EMD, EFD) Protocols, NexGen 911 System Operator Certification, Maine State Terminal Operator Certification and CPR to name a few.  Our dispatchers go through an extended training program learning about our local emergency response agencies, the operations and services each provides, as well as the communities they serve.
