The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking applications from qualified persons for multiple positions as a full-time patrol deputy. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, successfully complete the ALERT test, be in adequate physical condition and have a minimum of the law enforcement pre service certification. Duties include all aspects of criminal and traffic law. Starting weekly pay ranges from $1001.28 to $1231.86 weekly and is provided depending on experience and training. Hancock County offers an attractive health insurance package and generous time off benefits. The Patrol Deputies work a shift of six days on and four days off rotating between dayshift and evenings. Lateral transfers on a year to year basis are offered for up to ten years of experience. Each deputy is assigned their own fully outfitted cruiser for their use.
